To honor Nightingale’s legacy and as a broader celebration of women in statistics and data science, the Caucus for Women in Statistics and the American Statistical Association jointly launched the first annual Florence Nightingale Day (FN Day) in 2018. Florence Nightingale Day for Statistics and Data Science, as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was formed in 2021, with its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. The goal of the FN Day non-profit is establishing and supporting event sites nationally and internationally to promote statistics and data science to middle and high school students.
