Data Challenge

We are delighted to announce a hands-on data analysis activity in 2022! During this 90-minute activity, students will be given a dataset and asked to give voice to the reality behind the data. With supervision of the professional statisticians, students will tell the story of the data by using appropriate graphical and numerical methods. Happy number crunching!

You are eligible for the activity if you have attended at least one of the previous FN Day events or you have already taken an AP statistics course at school.

Amy Ruppert Stark

Director-Statistics Oncology
Eli Lilly and Company

Amy Ruppert Stark earned her Master of Applied Statistics degree from The Ohio State University in 2002 after obtaining her undergraduate degree from Miami University with a major in secondary education. For many years she worked with researchers to identify genetic markers associated with poor survival in patients diagnosed with leukemia to develop more effective treatments. After taking an interest in the design of clinical trials to test for the superiority of new treatments over standard of care, Amy went back to school and obtained her PhD in Biostatistics from The Ohio State University in 2017. Shortly thereafter, she joined Eli Lilly where she leads a group of statisticians and programmers in clinical trial conduct and analysis of clinical trial data. This work serves to bring safe and effective medicines to people around the world.
